The classic gothic MMO, reforged.
A ground-up rebuild of the original 2D Gothika Online — its world, its classes, its crafts — remade to finally be everything it was always meant to be.
A world reborn
A cursed gothic continent from the icy north to the volcanic south — thirteen regions, levels 1 to 100, all bound to the story of the Black Bell. Its content carried forward and reworked from the ground up.
New bones, old soul
Proficiencies that train as you use them, a talent tree, gathering and crafting worth doing, loot chests instead of ground clutter, a home and a farm of your own, and guilds with a hall to fill — over a hundred floors of labyrinth. Every rule is settled by the server, so none of it can be cheated.
The maps, the classes, the crafts, the lore — all carried over from the original build, then redesigned and gap-filled with fresh art.
Room for the world to keep growing — new regions, new depths, new trades — for years, without hitting the ceilings the original kept running into.
Top-down, tile-based, paperdoll characters, parties and guilds — the pixel gothic MMO, without the jank of the past.
Endless descent
A hundred floors beneath the world, and no two runs the same. Every floor is generated when you enter it — corridors, chambers, the boss's room and the stairs down — so the map you learned yesterday is gone today.
Each ten floors takes a region's skin and its creatures — Blackwood's crypts, a hedge maze in Whisperwood, a drowned abbey, and lava at the bottom. The tower darkens as you descend, until your own lantern is most of what you can see.
Every tenth floor is a fixed arena holding one enormous fight, sized for a raid rather than a party. It stands between you and the next ten floors, and until the server puts it down, nobody goes deeper.
Clear a floor and you can return to it straight from town — or drop back to any depth you've already earned. The climb is remembered, even when the maze isn't.
Somewhere to come back to
The labyrinth is the deep end. Above it there is ground to hold, a craft to learn and a door of your own to shut behind you.
Earn the deed and the house is yours — a room to furnish from over seventy pieces you craft yourself, a storeroom for the rest, and a walled farm out the back door with beds to sow and crops that come in while you are away. Better carpentry makes finer furniture, not stronger furniture.
Found a guild and it gets its own hall, instanced so the whole roster can meet in it, growing a room at a time as the guild levels. Daily tasks pay into one goal everybody feeds, so a quiet night from four people counts as much as a loud one from one.
Woodcutting, mining, gathering and fishing across a hundred levels of nodes, feeding smiths, tailors, jewellers, alchemists and cooks at eighteen stations. Harvestable nodes now glow, so a tree worth swinging at looks different from a tree.
A world that behaves
The light turns over a full day and every region keeps its own colour, fog and weather — the frost reach reads nothing like the swamp at the same hour. Underground, the only light is what you brought with you.
Walls stop things seeing you. Creatures cannot aggro or shoot through what you can hide behind, so a corner is cover and a corridor is a decision.
Every class calls a companion of its own — a guardian to hold what is hitting you, a skirmisher to chase, artillery to stand back and throw. It fights what you fight and nothing else, so it never pulls a room you were only walking past.
Attack or cast and you commit — your character stays on target and keeps swinging while your hands are free to move. Enemies scale to the ground they stand on rather than to you.
